I don’t know about you, but sometimes I feel insanely guilty spending money on things for myself. Sure, I’ll splash out from time to time, but usually only on something I’ve wanted forever, or that will last me forever. I’ll even be reluctant to try something of the luxurious sorts, out of fear I’ll become obsessed and have to sell a kidney to fund my newfound venture…

So if there’s going to be one habitual present to me, from me, it has to be FaceTime. Everything about this gem is to die for and it truly covers A – Z for all things beauty and skincare. The girls here are SO beautiful and genuine, alongside being incredibly knowledgeable and the best in their field.

My go-to treatment is the lash lift + tint and brow shape + tint. Perfect for those days in between makeup, which for me has probably become a little too often – eeek! Alongside my usual, I was treated to a facial trio by the lovely Daisy. I must admit I didn’t know enough about the science behind facials, or why they’re important, so together we’ve highlighted the important stuff.

Skin analysis

I had no clue what to ask for, or what I wanted to achieve specifically (other than lying on a plush bed, feeling like I was in heaven and not having to move lol). I did mention I’d love to brighten up my skin, but had full trust in Daisy’s opinion – she’s the expert right!

Daisy’s tip: People really underestimate how important oil flow is, and for the last 10 years or so, have been trying to remove as much oil as possible from the skin. I’m personally really excited to see a change in the industry, as our body’s oil is super important to our skin. It provides lipid soluble vitamins such as vitamin C and E, as well as protecting your skin from nasties and maintains a healthy balance of bacteria on the surface of our skin.

#1 Medik8 EyePeel

The word ‘peel’ always kind of freaked me out, but it’s actually a really safe and thorough exfoliation method, with both exfoliating and hydrating properties to help brighten the skin by revealing fresh, healthy skin cells. This is where it gets really techy, but the peel contains several types of Alpha Hydroxy Acid’s and Poly-Hydroxy Acids which dissolve the glue-like lipids that hold dead skin cells to the skin’s surface, clear congestions and refine skin texture. They also increase the amount of antioxidants in our skin to fight free radical damage – super important during summer with the added UV exposure.

#2 Sonophoresis

Described to me as a little metal plate that sounds like crickets chirping, Sonophoresis uses sound waves to gently infuse ingredients into the deeper layers of the skin. To help with my brightening focus, Daisy used Vitamin C, Red Alert Serum and Hydr8 B5.

Daisy’s tip: Hydr8 B5 contains Vitamin B and hyaluronic acid to provide the skin with intense hydration. Not only does the Hydr8 B5 Serum provide the skin with hydration, it also improves the texture, suppleness and luminosity of the skin. A fave ingredient of mine, this is a great summer serum to use post salt water swim!

#3 Healite

I had to really (and I mean really) push aside my claustrophobia for this one, but it was so worth it! The healite is a form of LED light therapy used in hospitals globally to help heal scars post-surgery, and help burn victims grow back their own skin. The LED light waves work to increase white blood cell count, stimulate healing processes and improve blood flow (which boosts oxygen and nutrients, as well as removing toxins). It also encourages the skin to “clean up” old bacteria, resulting in an even skin tone and fresher appearance. This one works wonders for all skincare needs, so definitely recommend!

Safe to say I left feeling 100% blissy! Two days later and my skin is still glowing and soaking up any moisturiser at twice the rate. If you’re like me and love the idea of looking after your skin, but don’t know where to begin then this is definitely your first port of call.
